Paalen, Wolfgang
Wolfgang Paalen was born in Baden near Vienna, Austria in 1905. At 16 Paalen studied painting in Berlin with Leo von Koenig, and later continued in Paris with Fernnd Léger. A modernist, his work embraces Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism. He committed suicide in Taxco, Mexico in 1959.
Paap, Hans
Hans Paap was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1894. Paap worked as an art director for motion pictures in Berlin for two years. After WWI, he spent the next 13 years in Argentina and Brazil. Leaving South America, he moved to Hollywood in 1928 and was active in Southern California through the early 1930s.

Adele Paasch was a sculptor. She was born on the 16th of June 1868 in Barmen (nowadays Wuppertal-Barmen) as Adele Emilie Hillringhaus, and she died on 7-7-1937 in Potsdam. She was married to Dr. Richard Paasch on 9-10-1885 in Berlin and had two children: Elisabeth (born 1888 - herself graphic artist and painter) and Hans (born 1891).
