Ladocha, Jiri

Tracing his artistic roots back to central European philosophy and aesthetics, Jiri Ladocha (born 1942) focussed in the 1970s on painting and printmaking, showing abstract expressionist works that combined the warm rich colours of Prague with symbols such as roses, vines, circles, and repeated faces.

Lalanne, François-Xavier & Claude

Les Lalanne are an artist duo comprising married couple François-Xavier Lalanne (1927–2008) and Claude Lalanne (b. 1924).

Les Lalanne were known to co-create on projects rather than collaborate. While Francois-Xavier favored sculpting animal themes, Claude preferred vegetation.

Lam, Wifredo
Wifredo Lam (1902-1982) was born in Sagua La Grande, Cuba to a Chinese father and a mother of African and Spanish ancestry. He is known for asserting his heritage through his art by merging Afro-Cuban influences with the aesthetics of Surrealism and the School of Paris.
Lamm, Leonid
Born in the Soviet Union, he became a New York resident who fled his homeland. In the 1950s in Russia, he did constructivist style art which could have landed him in jail. His work from the 1960s and 70s has elements of surrealism and derangement. In 1973, he was thrown in jail for applying for an exit visa.
Lamsfuss, Ulrich
The paintings of Ulrich Lamsfuss reproduce images found in a wide variety of media, from National Geographic, travel and fashion magazines to cinema and art history. He painstakingly duplicates each image, working his way across a feint pencil grid with the numbing precision of a computer plotter, square by square, top left to bottom right.

Lanskoy, Andre

André Lanskoy (March 31, 1902 - 1976) under the name of Andrei Michailovich Lanskoy, son of Count Lanskoy. In 1919 the artist fled the Russian revolution, going to Kiev. After a sojourn in the Crimea, André Lanskoy reached Paris in 1921, where he stayed for the rest of his life.

Le Brocquy, Louis
Described as "a towering figure in the history of Irish painting", Louis Le Brocquy, born 1916, has had a 70 year career as an artist. Marking his 90th birthday in 2006, eleven one-person exhibitions of his work were organized in Ireland and abroad.

Lê Phổ (2 August 1907 - 12 December 2001) was a Vietnamese painter.

In 1932, he earned a scholarship to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Upon returning to Vietnam he taught at the École Supérieure des Beaux Arts de l'Indochine in Hanoi.
