Marty Strutt - An artist worth checking out - Buckinghamshire, UK
--I recently came across this artist and feel he merits exposure on the Kabinett. He does have another website besides Fine Art America and if you have time to check it out, then go for it. You will find it at http://www.martysart.webs.com/ Enjoy. --RL Marty Strutt Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire - United Kingdom Member of Fine Art America Since: 02/11/2011 Freelance Illustrator/Fine Artist. Diploma in Art, Design & Media at Milton Keynes College 2011. I am currently developing my own painting style, which is, I suppose, a fusion of semi-abstract, abstract-realism and loose impressionism, if I had to try and pigeon-hole it into an identifiable style! I enjoy the freedom of painting in this way, using larger brushes and not being so 'in control' of my brushwork...this leads to paintings that have more energy and movement in them, than my earlier work, which was a lot more controlled and deliberate. I am looking to produce work with a 'wow' factor and I feel now that I am well on the way to achieving this. I love to experiment with my art, adding abstract and expressionist elements, in trying to capture the drama and excitement of light, colour, texture and movement. I have a passion for the sea and everything connected with the sea and I like to celebrate that through my art. I have many other interests apart from the sea, which feature in my art too. These include; nature, animals, skies, weather, streetscapes, sport, people, nostalgia, humorous, quirky and naive. I paint mostly in acrylics, but I also enjoy painting with gouache and watercolour, although I tend to use these mediums more for my illustration work. If I had to pinpoint a favourite art style from history, then without doubt it would be work of the Impressionists and Post Impressionists of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. I am also a huge fan of L.S. Lowry. Although his style of painting and mine are poles apart, there is much that inspires me about the man himself and the art he produced.
