ArtKabinett features pictures from art events from around the world:

56th Venice Biennale

Collectors from around the globe caused the 60,000-resident population of Venice, Italy to double as the 56th Venice Biennale opened to VIP visitors during the week of May 4.
Titillating works by Sarah Lucas swallowed up the British Pavilion with smoking sculpted vaginas. No one can accuse the English of being staid!
The Armenian Pavilion honored the centennial of the genocide with special works installed in an island convent. Ukranian activists upset the Russian Pavillion with a demonstration protesting the occupation of Crimea.
Each evening, heady politics succumbed to Venetian decadence with champagne soirées, and billionaire get togethers.

Cold Art Week Tempts Hot Collectors

Cold, windy and snowy days be damned! Art collectors descended upon New York City to visit the Armory Show and all the satellite fairs from March 5-8, 2015. Despite the miserable late winter weather, art aficionados were spotted everywhere in town. You were not able to walk around Manhattan without stumbling into an art fair, with over a dozen of them showcasing their wares.
Repeated storm-related airport delays throughout the busy art weekend allowed us to linger a bit longer at our favorite gallery, and consider buying that extra painting and sculpture.

Art Basel Beach Bash

75,000 visitors -- many arriving in the 1,000 private jets recorded at Opa Locka airport -- came to Miami during the weekend of December 6, 2014 to view $3 billion worth of art. Gallerists, critics, and collectors agreed that this year's fair was the most successful ever. To enjoy the show, simply bring some comfortable walking shoes and your Black AmEx. The whirlwind of parties, satellite fairs, and private collector viewings make the Miami fair a far sexier experience than the stodgy Swiss version.

Collectors Flock to FIAC

France's premier art fair, FIAC, took place under sunny Paris skies offering international collectors amazing works from the world's top contemporary artists. Held annually in the beaux-arts temple, The Grand Palais, high prices did not sway buyers. Top sellers were Yayoi Kusama, Anish Kapoor, Laurent Grasso, as well as, emerging artists from India and the Middle East.

Highlights of weekend activities included a tour of the Paul Maccarthy 'chocolate sex-toy factory installed at the Palais de Monnaie, a visit to Frank Gehry's sailing glass structure built for Fondation Louis Vuitton, and a look at the restored Musée Picasso in the Marais.

Art Basel Dazzles Collectors

Major art collectors from around the globe descended upon the tiny town of Basel, Switzerland to attend an Olympiads of fine art viewing. Over 60 thousand visitors crammed the Basel Messeplatz to attend this year's art fair.
Participating galleries kept their prices sky-high, as Beijing billionaires, Punjab potentates, and Tashkent tycoons added to the customary collector mix of European industrialists, and plain old-fashioned rich Americans. Estimated total transaction tally for six-day sales spectacular: $2 billion.

Collectors Flock to Freize

Freize fair was the highlight of an art-filled Mother's Day weekend in Manhattan.
A white serpentine tent meandered along Randall's Island to tempt collectors with contemporary works from all over the globe. Significant representation was noted from Berlin, Paris, and London.
All price points were satisfied by the participating galleries, who emphasized solo-artist curations, with numerous items priced well below $10,000. By Sunday afternoon, most pieces were sold or on reserve.

Collectors Race to Armory Show

A crisp and beautiful early March weekend provided our savvy collectors with every excuse to tour the multiple art fairs occuring in New York City. In just a few days, our short list of mandatory Exhbits included the Armory Show at Piers 92 & 94, ADAA at the Park Avenue Armory, Scope, and numerous galleries. Visiting with independent collectors at night, offered a rare opportunity to view some of Manhattan's most amazing private installations.

Art Basel Dazzles Miami

Art Basel Miami Beach is the world's largest art extravaganza bringing together billions of dollars of art, and the movers and shakers who transact them. Under sunny skies in December, the city played host to gorgeous art and global glitterati.

Art dealers reported the strongest sales ever in the art fair's 12-year history. Art collectors of ArtKabinett social media network enjoyed every moment of this amazing event.

France Fêtes FIAC 40

The "City of Lights" brings out birthday candles for its most important annual art event of the year, as FIAC turns 40. La Foire Internationale Art Contemporain has now become one of the world's major art events, on par with Art a Basel, and the New York's Armory Show.

Feasting with all our senses, ArtKabinett collectors spent this beautiful October 2013 weekend in Paris viewing wonderful public and private exhibits, whike making plenty of time for multiple flutes of champagne and slabs of foie gras. Diet and wallet be damned!

Art Basel's Swiss Cachet

Our independent collectors wasted no time in jetting off to Basel, Switzerland for this year's major art event. A strong dollar, and weakened stock market made the acquisition of fine artwork seem like a reasonable event for many of our American members.

Shown here are just a few of the thousands of pieces which attracted our eyes over the four-day event. A new Pavillion deigned by 'starchitects' Herzog & deMeuron made the visit evn more thrilling.
